Well, one shouldn't Pass on this sort of hand. The choices are a bluff bid of 4heart, trying to show the good hand that you don't have, or a gentle 3heart trying to obstruct the player on your left. 4heart is wild and may well get Doubled so I settle for the more modest effort of 3heart. That, however, doesn't stop the hand on my left who bids a prompt 3spade. Partner Passes and right hand opponent raises that to Game. In diagrammatic form the bidding has been:
